10 design hack ideas for the Deer and Doe Myosotis dress

We finally have the new Deer and Doe Myosotis dress pattern released for #sewmystyle2018! It's a loose fitting dress with some gorgeous feminine features, but I know you all love a hack that means you can get more versions out of your pattern. Here are just a few ideas if you are stuck for inspiration....do leave your suggestions in the comments too!

When I look at the Myosotis dress I think of lots of bohemian style features because of the flounce at the end of the sleeves and the bottom of the skirt in Version 1. Check out the #sewmystyle2018 inspiration board over on Pinterest to see all these ideas and many more.

1. Separate the top and skirt sections, adding a belt and zip to the skirt to give you a closer fitting hour glass look.

2. Add the flounce to the bottom of the bodice to create a peplum top....or just really shorten the skirt!

3. Use a lightweight knit with a much shorter skirt for a pretty casual look.

4. Add waist ties for a closer fit without having to make many design alterations.

5. Embrace the 90s and go for a cropped bodice with extra long sleeves.

6. Replace the buttons at the front with ties.

7. Lengthen the bodice down to create a blouse or tunic.

8. Contrast with sheer fabrics at the sleeves and skirt flounce.

9. Use the back bodice to draft a single front panel with a boat or round neck instead of the button down front.

10. Classic boho style....deepen the V at the front and lengthen the skirt to a maxi length.
