the #wardrobebuilder project - nightwear

Will this be the comfiest month of the #wardrobebuilder project? Does everyone love cosying up and chilling out in their pyjamas? or are you a seamstress who loves a little more luxe in your nightwear? This month it's all about pyjamas, slips, dressing robes and beautiful boudoir sets. There's a special discount from Tilly and the Buttons on the Fifi pattern, and another discount from Sew Essential so you can buy the perfect fabric for your makes.

Nightwear I really want to add to my wardrobe this year

Seeing as the Fifi pyjama set is on offer all month it's a no brainer! This cami set looks simple enough to an enjoyable project and has lots of ways which different fabrics can be used to make it really special.
Helen's Closet has just released the Suki kimono; perfect as a luxurious dressing gown or comfortable cover up.
Having a Seamwork subscription means I'm always interested in whether any of their catalogue will be a contender for a #wardrobebuilder make. This month the Lisbon pattern looks like an easy but beautiful pattern. I think the hardest part would be finding the right fabric!
The Carolyn pyjamas by Closet Case Patterns appear to be popular amongst sewing bloggers, and are quite a classic pattern.

Fabrics I'm loving right now for this project

Ever since Liberty emailed me their newsletter with nightwear in their beautiful prints I've coveted a Liberty print pyjama set. Their cotton lawn is perfect for nightwear. Other cotton lawns are available, but hey, why not?
A slinky satin would also be a tiny bit extravagant, but perfect for pyjamas and slips. For a slip with beautiful trims I recommend having a look at this page by VeryKerryBerry - it has a very comprehensive list of lingerie and bra making suppliers. Finding the right satin is going to be the key to this.
Looking ahead to winter, a brushed cotton flannel set of pyjamas will see a lot of use, even if it's just for snuggling up in in front of a movie!

There's a lot more nightwear inspiration over on the group Pinterest board. You can add your makes here too (drop me an email and I'll send you an invite).

Link up your makes here

By linking up your images you are also giving permission for them to appear in Sew Now magazine as part of the monthly column feature. (Usually something that most of us would like!) Unfortunately even I don't know which ones will make it to the final published issue so keep an eye out for yours!

PS I'm interested to know how many people take advantage of the discounts that companies offer - leave a note in the comments if you do use one or if you have any thoughts.
